Hank Harris, Director of Consulting, answers the question in this installment of Consulting Conversations. Watch it now!
I'm tempted to say that in most cases the answer is always too much until someone decides there is a big enough gain to be made by employing a consultant.
But to try to give you a more hard-edged or specific answer to that, I think we're talking here about privately held businesses and what I might call mid-market companies. And I think in those cases, you are probably going to paying rates that are similar to what you pay other professionals people: lawyers, accountants, board members, outside board members if you use them.
They're not going to be exactly the same, but they are going to be in a range of probably several hundred dollars to several thousand dollars a day, or something like that.
I would love to hear from any private business owner in North Carolina that thinks we could be of some help to them in understanding how their business gets better or where it might go in the future.
